Reed Krakoff

Last week I had the opportunity to meet the representative from the Reed Krakoff design house. I have always been aware of his amazing accessory and handbag collections of the past 20 years, but have not really followed his line of clothing. After viewing Reed’s 2013 Fall Collection, I realized that I should have paid attention years ago.

I discovered that through his clean, minimalistic silhouettes, his designs had quite a presence. They are elegant and functional with subtle intrigue.

This dress works well for an “Inverted Triangle”, a “Rectangle”, or an “Hourglass” body silhouette.  The shoulder straps are not too narrow, the V-Neck creates the right balance across the shoulder line, it is contoured at the waist, and is slightly A-Line.

The subtle leather detailing on the garment adds intrigue.

The handbags are made for functionality.  Reed listens to his clients, and creates a workable piece that is lightweight and beautiful.  Each handbag compliments an outfit, not overpowering a it.  I like the subtle angles and curves of each bag.  This works well for all body shapes.  The large tote will accommodate a laptop, and I-PAD.  I would use this as a briefcase.

I learned that the new face of the Reed Krakoff Fall 2013 add campaign is Julianne Moore.  She is absolutely beautiful in the add.

The Fall 2013 Reed Krakoff line will be available at Mario’s, Portland, Oregon.
